In the 85 years we have been in business, we have expanded our product line to include petroleum fuel products (heating oil, diesel, gasoline) heating and air conditioning, propane, fire place services and home security. We are often asked what makes us who we are. And well – this is us!

What Makes Tevis Energy Unique?

The pillars to our brand are Quality, Integrity, Response. We are passionate about the quality of our fuel because we know it makes a difference for both our residential and commercial customers. We vow to communicate honestly with each of our customers, providing personalized service and looking after their best interest. This includes responding quickly to our customers’ needs and working proactively to ensure customers receive worry-free service from us. Our employees fully embrace these principles in their daily activities, regardless of their job title. Customers and employees alike tell us this is what makes Tevis unique.

What motivates us to jump out of bed every morning?

A genuine love for what we do! We live, work and play in the same communities as our customers, this includes Jack, our company owner. Our staff enjoys working with each other and the people we serve. Tevis encourages volunteerism on and off the job. We are truly a family of people working together inside a family of companies.

What business challenges keep us awake at night?

Without hesitation, ensuring each driver makes it home to their families safely at the end of every shift. We have vehicles on the road carrying fuels to homes and businesses day and night, in all kinds of weather. Nothing is more important to us than knowing each of our employees has completed their duties to return safely home to their families.

How do we give back to the community?

Tevis Energy is an active participant in the MEAP and LIHEAP Program in Maryland and Pennsylvania, which helps low-income families with their heating costs. We also participate in the NORA Tank Rebate Program in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. Internally, our employees are encouraged to identify outreach opportunities in the communities we serve, and that is rewarding for everyone.

Tevis Energy is local, privately-owned fuel supplier that is part of “The Tevis Family of Companies.” Founded as S.H. Tevis & Son in 1932, The Tevis Family of Companies includes: Modern Comfort Systems, Tevis Propane, Jiffy Mart, Modern Comfort Security, and Tevis Home.
