Owings Mills once had a large and popular mall, which first began welcoming customers in 1986. However, it closed in 2015 and was totally demolished just two years later. Looking ahead, Owings Mills hopes to redevelop that plot of land into a town centre that resembles, at least in some ways, the Hunt Valley Towne Centre. Foundry Row is one of the newest shopping centers to have opened in Owings Mills and first unveiled its Wegmans grocery store in 2016. One of Owings Mills’ scariest properties is th Rosewood Center, which has been abandoned since 2014 when, during Maryland State Police training, an officer was accidentally shot and killed. It is strongly advised not to trespass, due to the extremely high levels of asbestos inside and around the building.
