The small community called Pylesville, located in Harford County, Maryland, is located directly north of the Forest Hill community and is just below the Maryland’s border with Pennsylvania, otherwise known as the Mason-Dixon Line. The Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad is one of the reasons that the community was able to grow after its establishment in the 19th century. The MD and PA railroad, affectionately known by its users as the Ma and Pa Railroad, traveled between York, PA and Baltimore, MD. The Ma and PA serviced Pylesville until 1958 at milepost 40.3.
There are many outdoor recreational locations that you should consider visiting if you love wildlife and live in or around Pylesville, such as Rocks State Park, Falling Branch Area, Highland Park, Geneva Farm Golf Course, Falling Branch Park and Stoneywood Nature Center. The primary roads that pass through Pylesville include St Marys Road, Graceton Road (Maryland Route 624), Pylesville Road (Maryland Route 165) and Ady Road (Maryland Route 543). Broad Creek flows eastward from the Susquehanna River has a branch of its own, Jacks Hole, which flows to the south-east and ends to the north of its starting point, shortly after it leaves the geographical boundaries of Pylesville. According to data from 2010, it seems that the Pylesville community is home to almost 700 individuals and may now be well over 700 residents strong. Although it is an unincorporated part of Harford County, it is in fact a census-designated place whose population is used for statistical purposes.
