You can find Upper Falls, Maryland off of Bradshaw Road, sandwiched by Kingsville, to the north, and Bradshaw, to the south. Upper Falls is also blocked in by MD Route 1 and Interstate 95, which run on either side of Upper Falls. The center of Upper Falls is near its post office, where Bradshaw Road offers the opportunity to turn onto Franklinville Road or Raphel Road. Upper Falls Dance Academy, Salem United Methodist Church and Pete’s Pickins Antiques are also located in this area, along with a few residences. Moving out from the center of Upper Falls, you can also find Zone Tailed Denim, Shumaker’s Animal Control, St. Stephen Catholic School, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Kingsville Park and Baseball Field, Hawks Hollow Farm and Kroner Industrial Truck Services.
After driving through Upper Falls, you may notice that it is a very rural area and has a small population. This may be because of its odd geographical stance, which has it sandwiched in between two busy roads and two busier towns. One of the central locations in Upper Falls is its post office, which refers to an institution that offers public mail services and may also sell mail related items, such as packages, stationery, stamps and handle passport applications or photos. Before ZIP codes were commonly used, post offices were relied on to deliver packages and letters to the residents of a specific town, which was why many towns acquired names related to a post master’s last or first name OR made other towns change their name.
